Launch "Ageing and Health" Research Program

Over 150 guests from USyd, Area Health Services, peak groups and the interested public attended the afternoon of activites to mark the launch of the CHS "Ageing and Health" Research Program.
Professor Hal Kendig, Chair, CHS "Ageing and Health" Research Program, provided an overview of the purpose, aims and objectives of the CHS "Ageing and Health" Program. [ presentation ppt ]
Then Professor Marcia Ory, Director, National Program Office project on Increasing Physical Activity in the 50 plus population, Texas USA presented a special seminar, "Translating research into practice: Results from the US Active for Life Program". [ presentation ppt ]
Finally, Professor Bob Cumming, Professor Maria Fiatorone Singh and Professor David le Couteur each gave a brief presenation on their particular areas of expertise, highlighting areas of possible multidisciplinary collaboration.
